vocabulary Words 3

Chagrin- N.- a feeling of vexation, marked by disappointment or humiliation.
             -The Chagrin old man just lost a basketball game to a 10 year old.
          
Detestable- ADJ.- hateful.
              - The detestable K.C made Me cry when he told me I was Ugly.


Ethereal- ADJ.- extremely delicate or refined
         - The girls ethereal performance showed how well she moved on the ice.


Imposing- ADJ.- very impressive because of great size.
          - The imposing man stood over me like he was a giant and i was a mouse. 

Majestic- ADJ.- grand
           - After seeing the majestic concert, I wanted to come back the second night. 


Contempt- N.- a feeling of hate, having despise in someone. 
           -  After the big fight between my sister she apologized for steeling my brush but I still had contempt towards her.

Sirens- N. a seductively beautiful or charming woman
        - The sirens lured the men into the parlor. 



Pluck- V.- to summon up one's courage
        - The little girl lacks the pluck to stand up to the bully.


Perspicacity- N. keenness of mental perception and understanding
              - You have to have the Perspicacity of a Brain Surgeon to get into Harvard.
