What would you have done if you found the stowaway?

Main Idea- Topic sentence

Describe what you would have done and the reasons behind it

I would have done the same thing as Barton. It really would hurt me to have to kill her. Even though she was young and didn't know the consequences of hiding on the EDS plane. If there were any other ways to keep her on the EDS I would much rather not have her die.  Even though keeping  her on would be breaking the law,  I would be saving a life. To her parents I would be a murderer, they wouldn't understand that keeping her would kill would not only kill her but me and the six people on Wooden.  

Journal 2

           In the morning they wake up at 7:00 in their home in Allendale, California. At 7:09 they eat toast, eggs sunny side up, bacon, milk, and coffee. Mr. Featherstone's birthday is today, August 4th, 2026. At 8:01 the two kids go to school. And The dad would go off to work. The mom would stay home and at 2:30 the bridge tables came out from the walls and martinis, and sandwiches would be set on the bench for the mom and her friends. At 4:30 the kids would be coming home from school and the nursery walls would glow with all the animals coming alive. 5:00 is bath time for the kids. Soon after the dad sits in his study and smokes a cigar. Since the nights are cool, the beds are warmed and the kids are put to sleep at 9:00. At 9:05 Mrs. McCellan has her favorite poem read to her about what happens when everyone is gone and nature goes on with its life, then everyone goes to sleep.

Annul- Verb- Declare invalid, or to abolish

          - The ceremony was annulled because the groom had food poisoning.

Anecdote- Noun- A short amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person

          - The anecdote that I heard from our teacher about him falling out of a tree made the whole class laugh hysterically.

Insolence- Noun- Showing a rude and arrogant lack of respect

           - The girl showed insolence toward her mom and dad when she didn't get a pony for her birthday.

Churlish- Adjective- Rude in a mean-spirited and unfriendly way

              - The Churlish man yelled at me because I accidentally tripped on the hose, that was laying in the middle of the side walk and smashed his flowers.

Irate- Adjective- Feeling characterized by great anger

                   The Irate princess got mad at her servants because they washed a red dress with all her white dresses. 

Efficacy- Noun- The ability to produce a desired or intended result
                 The efficacy of the teacher was in favor of his daughter. 

Cajole- Verb- Persuade someone to do something by sustained coaxing or flatter
             My grandma wouldn't give me cookies, so I tried to cajole her to give me cake.

Dastardly- Adjective- Wicked and cruel
               The dastardly man picked on everyone at scholl.

Pummel- Verb- Strike repeatedly, typically with the fists
                I  was going to pummel jake if he kept on singing.
             
Perspicacity- Noun-  Keenness of mental perception and/or ability
               To get into high school you must have the perspicacity of a 12th grader.
                 

Quell- Verb- Put an end to, typically by the use of force
               I had to quell the fight between my two dogs. 

Chagrin- Noun- Distress or embarrassment at having failed or been humiliated
                   The chagrin old man just lost a basketball game to a 10 year old.

Assiduosly- Adjective- Showing great care and perseverance
                    The babysitter assiduously told the story to her friends about saving the baby from choking.

Maliciously- Adjective- Intended to do harm
              Avi maliciously gave me a wedgie.

Vocabulary Words

Subliminal- Adj. Affecting someone's mind without their being aware of it.
                  - The dog sent his master a subliminal message to get him food.

Regressive- Adj. Returning to a former or less developed state.
                 - The boy has a regressive tendency for his eating habbits.

Hindrance- A thing that provides resistance.
                   - The plastic band provided hindrance so the newspapers didn't fly out.

Vigilance- N. The action of keeping carful watch for possible danger.
                     -The boy was vigilance towards walking on high cliff.

Undulate- V.  To move wit a smooth wave-like motion.
                      - The ocean undulated to with the ferocious.

Consternation- N. Feeling anxiety or dismay.
                      - The woman cried in consternation when her plane got cancelled.

 Vague- Adj. Unclear meaning.
                    - The teacher gave a very vague definition of a smile. 

Resilient- Adj.  Able to springback into shape after bending, stretching or being compressed.
                     - The resilient rubber band went back to its original form after being smashed by a tire.
Intermittent- Adj. Occuring at irregular intervals.
              - The intermittent bus came at random times of the day because the principal gave the bus driver the schedule.
luminous- Adj. Bright or shining.
                 - My mom always told me, "don't go into the lunious light at the end of the tunnel."
