Vocabulary Words

Subliminal- Adj. Affecting someone's mind without their being aware of it.
                  - The dog sent his master a subliminal message to get him food.

Regressive- Adj. Returning to a former or less developed state.
                 - The boy has a regressive tendency for his eating habbits.

Hindrance- A thing that provides resistance.
                   - The plastic band provided hindrance so the newspapers didn't fly out.

Vigilance- N. The action of keeping carful watch for possible danger.
                     -The boy was vigilance towards walking on high cliff.

Undulate- V.  To move wit a smooth wave-like motion.
                      - The ocean undulated to with the ferocious.

Consternation- N. Feeling anxiety or dismay.
                      - The woman cried in consternation when her plane got cancelled.

 Vague- Adj. Unclear meaning.
                    - The teacher gave a very vague definition of a smile. 

Resilient- Adj.  Able to springback into shape after bending, stretching or being compressed.
                     - The resilient rubber band went back to its original form after being smashed by a tire.
Intermittent- Adj. Occuring at irregular intervals.
              - The intermittent bus came at random times of the day because the principal gave the bus driver the schedule.
luminous- Adj. Bright or shining.
                 - My mom always told me, "don't go into the lunious light at the end of the tunnel."
